Procedures and Requirements                                               TUITION COSTS

Mature Christians who have graduated from high school or hold a G.E.D. may elect to complete the requirements for license and qualify for a Bachelors Degree in Christian Counseling.

Complete Phase I

Courses

Each candidate must complete the following 5 courses: 

Additional Requirements

Each candidate must:  

1. Complete practicum, administering the APS to 10 individuals, with 3 hrs. clinical supervision.

2. Upon completion of the required courses, submit the following      

  a. Answers to 50 ethical questions posed by N.C.C.A.'s National Licensing Board of Examiners

  b. Application for Membership and signed N.C.C.A. code of Ethical Standards.

  c. $50 for first year's annual dues.

 

After completing all of the requirements for Phase I, the candidate will (assuming everything is in order) receive: 

 ◦   Certified Temperament Counselor certificate

 ◦   Clinical Member (non-clergy) or Professional Clinical member (clergy)

 Complete Phase II

Courses

Each candidate must complete the following 3 courses:

Additional Requirements

Each candidate must:

     1. Complete a practicum. This consists of administering the A.P.S. to 15

         additional individuals under the direction of an assigned and approved

         clinical supervisor.  3 hours of supervision required.

 Upon completion of the required courses and supervision, submit the following:

     a. A signed application for N.C.C.A. Certificate/license.  

     b. The Notification and Release for personal National Screening. 

     c. A licensing fee of $100.

      D.  Ministerial Credentials, send a copy of your credentials.

***All Candidates are required to have current ministerial credentials in order to be credentialed as a pastoral counselor by the N.C.C.A..  if you do not already have valid ministerial credentials, we recommend that you speak with your local pastor or church leaderhsiip about attaining these credentials. If through your local church or denomination.  If that is not possible, we have 4 organizations that we refer our students to, in order to attain those ministerial credentials. 

After successfully completing all of the requirements for Phase II, the candidate will (asssuming everything is order) receive:  


Annual membership and certification/license renewal is required. Membership is $50 per year and certification/ license renewal is $20 per year (total $70). A signed affidavit verifying continuing education must be submitted annually.
 
The tuition for each Phase I and Phase II course is $250. this includes shipping, and handling and all course supplies/materials. Candidates are expected to pay for each course when it is shipped. 

Clinical Supervisors are to be paid $50 per hour and every candidate must complete six (6) hours of supervision.


NOW OFFERING "HOW TO START A COUNSELING MINISTRY AND TAKE IT HIGHER".  Avoid ministry failure, by learning to develop your vision and set your goals.   You will explore the different concepts of a home office, church office, and personal office space.  Learn ways to begin advertising and reaching your community.  This course will help you make sure to have a strong start in your ministry which will bring greater success in the future.  It is an advanced level course, in that it will be considered part of the Doctoral course requirement if you choose to take it.  The cost is $250 as are the Phase 1 & 2 courses. 
 

Complete Phase III

Courses

   Each candidate must select and complete four (4) advanced courses.

Additional Requirements

Each candidate must:

Upon completion of the required courses, submit the following:

a. Written responses to a 500 Question Open Book Equivalency Exam on the Bible

   (Old and New Testament — KJV) (may exempt if you have an earned Associates Degree)

b. A signed letter authorizing N.C.C.A. to transfer the academic records to the

    approved college.

c. Matriculation and transfer fees of $1500 payable to:

    N.C.C.A. (A surcharge for payment by credit card may apply)


The tuition for each Phase 3 and advanced course is $200. this includes shipping and handling and all course supplies/materials. Candidates are expected to pay for each course when it is shipped.

After successfully completing all of the requirements for Phase III, the candidate will (assuming everything is in order) receive:

The Bachelors degree will be awarded through Cornerstone University.  The student does not contact the university directly. In His Image Institute of Counseling & Training and NCCA serve as the liaisons between the student and University.
